Violations of trade marks and/or copyrights, can lead to prosecutions under the Trade Marks Act 1999 and/or Copyright Act 1957.
The Trade Marks Act provides for registration and protection of trade marks for goods and services. It also intends to prevent use of fraudulent marks. The Copyrights Act extends protection to creators of literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works and also producers of cinematograph films and sound recordings.
